[09-02-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Compton

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Compton early Wednesday morning, September 2, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident was reported around 4:50 a.m. on Alameda Street near Pine Street, close to the border with unincorporated Willowbrook.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, age, or gender.

The driver left the scene following the collision. Authorities did not immediately have a description of the vehicle involved.

The authorities continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash.
