[08-28-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Passenger Critically Injured in DUI Crash Involving Semi-Truck on Highway 14.webpA passenger suffered critical injuries in a suspected DUI crash involving a Dodge and a semi-truck on Highway 14 in Los Angeles County on Friday morning, August 28, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area office, officers initially received reports around 8:37 a.m. of a red Dodge carrying two people traveling at high speeds on northbound Highway 14, south of Escondido Canyon Road.

CHP said the Dodge collided with a semi-truck around 8:48 a.m. The female passenger became trapped inside the Dodge and had to be extricated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The passenger suffered critical injuries and was transported for medical treatment. No additional injuries were reported.

The Dodge driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The CHP continues to investigate the crash.
