[08-29-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Man Killed, Two Injured in Crash With Tesla in Long Beach.webpA 44-year-old man was killed, and two women were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Long Beach on Saturday night, August 29, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the collision occurred around 10:35 p.m. in the 5700 block of Pacific Coast Highway.

Police said a 2026 Tesla traveling westbound at a high rate of speed collided with a 2025 Volkswagen exiting a shopping center. The Tesla then went over a curb and struck a cinder block wall, causing additional damage to several parked vehicles. The Volkswagen struck a sign.

The Tesla driver, identified as 44-year-old Robert F., was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Two women, ages 43 and 48, who were occupying the Volkswagen were also transported to hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available.

LBPD said speed and impaired driving appear to have been contributing factors in the collision. Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
