A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Encinitas on Friday evening, July 10, 2026.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station responded to the incident around 7:16 p.m. at the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte.
Authorities said a man driving a 2025 Nissan Z was traveling westbound when his vehicle collided with the woman who was crossing the street. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity and age have not been released.
The driver remained at the scene and was not injured. Preliminary investigations indicate that alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been factors.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers are investigating the incident.
