A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Friday evening, July 10, 2026.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:18 p.m. in the 1100 block of Panorama Drive.
Preliminary investigation indicates a woman driving westbound on Panorama Drive when she struck the pedestrian, who was walking outside of a crosswalk. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police reported that intoxication was not a factor, though they are continuing to investigate whether speed contributed to the crash.
