A 25-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Delano on Wednesday morning, July 8, 2026.
According to the Delano Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 4:10 a.m. at the 2100 block of Glenwood Street.
Authorities said the vehicle was traveling northbound on Glenwood Street when it struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the roadway.
The victim, identified as Homero G. of Delano, sustained serious injuries and later died at a hospital. He was a former Delano football standout and played for Sacramento State.
The driver, a 32-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Delano police said it is not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
