A woman was critically injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding an electric scooter in Bakersfield on Saturday night, April 11, 2026.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded at around 8:25 p.m. to the 6800 block of White Lane.
Upon arrival, officers found the injured woman in the roadway along with evidence indicating she had been struck by a vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators report that the woman was riding an electric scooter on the south shoulder of the roadway when a passing vehicle struck her. The driver fled the scene following the collision.
Authorities have not determined whether speed or impairment was a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
