[03-20-2026] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in San Ysidro (1).webpA female pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in San Ysidro, San Diego County, early Friday morning, March 20, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. at 3800 Beyer Boulevard.

The pedestrian was attempting to cross the road between two parked vehicles when she stepped into the path of a 2011 four-door BMW driven by a 22-year-old man heading eastbound.

The impact caused the pedestrian to sustain life-threatening injuries, including fractures to both lower legs and bleeding of the brain. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the BMW was uninjured, and alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision. 

The investigation is being handled by the SDPD Traffic Division.
