[03-01-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Two Killed in Traffic Collision on Newhall Ave. in Santa Clarita

Two men were killed in a traffic collision on Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita on Sunday morning, March 1, 2026.

The victims have been identified as 61-year-old Mario B. of San Fernando and 45-year-old Nathaniel C. of Bullhead City, Arizona, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Authorities said the collision occurred after the victims were suspected of making an illegal left turn out of a mobile home park. A Los Angeles County Public Works truck traveling westbound on Newhall Avenue struck the vehicle. The driver of the Public Works truck was not injured.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies, along with L.A. County Fire Department personnel, responded to the crash at around 6:13 a.m.

Firefighters extricated one individual from the wreckage, and no hospital transports were reported.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Services Detail is investigating the incident.
