[03-02-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – 1-Year-Old Girl Killed, Two Injured After SUV Reverses Into Porch in Long Beach.webpA 1-year-old girl was killed, and two others were injured after an SUV reversed into a porch in Long Beach on Monday morning, March 2, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred at around 11:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Maine Avenue. 

Authorities stated that a 55-year-old driver, identified as Lamont R., reversed the SUV into a group of people who were sitting on a porch.

Police reported that a woman and two young girls were struck in the incident. All three were transported to a hospital. 

The most seriously injured victim, later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as 1-year-old Myrah H., was pronounced dead. The woman and the second child sustained injuries described as undetermined but stable.

Investigators said the SUV was backing up, possibly attempting to turn around, when it jumped the curb and struck the porch. The driver remained at the scene and was questioned by officers.

The driver was later arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and assault. Jail records show he was booked around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and is being held in lieu of $335,000 bail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
