Four people were transported to the hospital after a pickup truck slammed into a Highway 101 overpass support pillar in Goleta on Monday afternoon, February 16, 2026.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash was reported just after 2:00 p.m. on the southbound Patterson Avenue off-ramp.
Two adults and two children sustained moderate to severe injuries. All four were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital’s emergency room by American Medical Response ambulance.
The California Highway Patrol does not suspect that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. However, the agency is investigating allegations of “aggressive driving,” as reported by CHP Sgt. Keith Rogers.
Sgt. Rogers confirmed that the female driver of the pickup truck suffered major injuries, while the male passenger sustained moderate injuries. The two minors, a male juvenile and a female juvenile, were also in the truck. The male juvenile received moderate injuries, while the female juvenile was in critical condition.
The vehicle was towed by CHP for evidence, and no further details are available at this time.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
