A pedestrian was killed after being struck in a hit-and-run collision in San Jose on Saturday morning, February 7, 2026.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the woman was struck at around 6:20 a.m. Officers remained at the scene as of about 8:15 a.m. as the investigation continued.
The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Her identity has not been released.
Police said North Capitol Avenue was expected to be closed from Longford Drive to Camino Del Rey for several hours, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
The hit-and-run remains under investigation.
