A woman was fatally struck by multiple vehicles on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway near Knott Avenue in Buena Park early Sunday morning, September 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched around 1:00 a.m. to the westbound lanes just east of Knott Avenue. CHP reported finding a woman lying in the middle lanes of the freeway and a vehicle stopped on the right shoulder. A representative from the Orange County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene at 1:27 a.m.
Authorities said it is possible the woman exited her vehicle before being struck. All lanes of traffic were reopened by 7:30 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
