[09-19-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Hit-And-Run Crash in YucaipaA pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash in Yucaipa on Thursday evening, September 19, 2024.

The victim, a 62-year-old man from Yucaipa, was found dead in the roadway near the intersection of Yucaipa Boulevard and 17th Street at approximately 9:45 p.m., according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators determined that the vehicle, a black 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 30-year-old Steven R., hit the man and fled the scene.

The driver was arrested for felony hit-and-run causing injury. He has been booked into the Central Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing.
