[07-13-2024] Kern County, CA – Two Drivers Possibly Injured Following Semi-Trailer Vs. Vehicle Head-On Crash Along Highway 65

Two drivers were possibly injured following a semi-trailer vs. vehicle head-on crash near Bakersfield on Saturday evening, July 13, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 9:38 p.m. on Highway 65 and Gretlein Road.

Authorities stated that a silver Kia collided head-on with a semi-trailer. As a result, the semi-trailer lost control and went off the road. A witness told the CHP that the driver of the Kia was swerving prior to the crash. 

The overall number of people involved was not immediately known, but the two drivers were possibly hurt in the collision. Once confirmed, emergency workers will disclose these potential injuries and the number of patients injured.

It is unknown what caused the collision or if drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role. The investigators have yet to release additional information regarding the incident. 

Potential witnesses are asked to call the police and share what they know regarding the collision.
