Two men suffered serious injuries after being ejected from their vehicle when it launched over a 20-foot-wide canal and struck an almond tree in Fresno County on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the car soared 60 to 80 feet upside down before hitting the tree.
One passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered broken bones. The driver, although restrained, was ejected upon impact. The men were discovered by a farmer four to five hours after the crash.
CHP reported speed as a factor and suspected alcohol may have played a role. Both men survived.
The investigation is ongoing.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
