[10-01-2026] Fresno County, CA – Driver Injured in Suspected DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in Mendota.webpA driver was injured in a suspected DUI hit-and-run collision in Mendota, Fresno County, on Thursday evening, October 1, 2026.

According to the Mendota Police Department, officers responded at around 6:15 p.m. to the northbound Highway 33 at Naples Street.

Police said Martinez T. was driving a gray Nissan pickup northbound when he rear-ended a Toyota pickup, injuring the Toyota driver.

Authorities said the suspect left the scene after the collision and continued northbound on Highway 33. Officers later located and detained him on Highway 33 north of Bullard Avenue.

Martinez was suspected of being intoxicated. He was taken into custody and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and DUI causing injury.

The investigation remains ongoing.
