At least one person was killed following a collision between a car and a semi-truck on 405 Freeway near Bel Air, Los Angeles County, early Thursday morning, September 21, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the incident reports around 4:42 a.m. along the southbound lane of the San Diego (405) Freeway at North Mulholland Drive in the Sherman Oaks area. Upon the arrival of authorities, they found a Volkswagen Beetle and a Semi-truck with substantial damages.
Initial investigation revealed that the Volkswagen suddenly swerved and collided with the back of a semi-truck parked on the shoulder of the highway.
The reason for the sudden turn is currently unknown, and the driver of the Volkswagen was declared dead on the scene.
Officials have not released details regarding the identity of the driver.
More details regarding the crash are currently unavailable while the CHP is carrying out further investigations.
