[09-19-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – At Least Two in Critical Condition Following Multi-Vehicle Collision in Colton

At least two were critically injured following a multi-vehicle crash in Colton on Tuesday night, September 19, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol and the Colton Fire Department responded to calls of the incident around 10:45 p.m. at northbound 215 North of Barton Road.

Authorities stated that the crash involved several vehicles, including a semi-truck and three pickups, with multiple injuries reported.

Upon the arrival of emergency teams, responders found a critically injured woman lying on the high occupancy vehicle lane after being ejected from her pickup truck. Another was found trapped inside a badly damaged vehicle and required extrication.

Another person with minor injuries was aided by responders but was found to be under the influence at the time.  The CHP later detained the suspected DUI driver after tests, and is now in custody.

All who sustained injuries were transported to a nearby hospital. It is currently unspecified whether the DUI driver played a huge role in the collision.
