[09-10-2023] 70-Year-Old Man Struck, Seriously Injured Following Hit-And-Run Collision in Redwood VillageA 70-year-old male pedestrian was hit by a sedan while crossing at a marked crosswalk in Redwood Village, San Diego, on Sunday night, September 10, 2023.

The San Diego Police Department officers were dispatched following reports of the hit-and-run crash around 7:42 p.m. at  Streamview Drive.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 70-year-old man was heading westbound on College Avenue, heading to the marked crosswalk on Streamview Drive.

While crossing, a dark-colored sedan from westbound Streamview Road turned left onto southbound College Avenue, hitting him and leaving him on the road. The driver then drove off the scene before authorities could arrive.

The pedestrian reportedly suffered from a brain bleed, a fractured wrist, and a fractured thumb and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The accident is still under investigation and is handled by the San Diego Police Department.
