[09-07-2023] Fresno County, CA – Mother & Two Children Ages 11 & 4 Hospitalized After Being Hit by Vehicle on First Street

A mother in her 30s and two of her children were hospitalized after being hit by a car in Fresno on Thursday morning, September 7, 2023.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident occurred on First Street between Princeton and Simpson Avenues at around 7:30 a.m.

FPD officers reported a traffic collision between a Volkswagen driven by a woman in her 70s and a mother of four. The driver turned from Princeton onto First Street, where she hit the pedestrian and her kids walking in a crosswalk.

The victims were transported to a local hospital and said to be in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision pending an investigation.
