A pedestrian was killed after a COASTER commuter train collision in San Diego on Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2023.
According to San Diego County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jason K., the incident occurred on the tracks near the intersection of Pacific Highway and West Washington Street at around 3:25 p.m.
San Diego Police Department officers found a man hit by a northbound commuter train suffering critical injuries. Medical personnel administered life-saving measures to save the man’s life, but he was later pronounced dead.
No further details about the incident have been released, and it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
