Fatal Motorcycle Accident Statistics
The National Safety Council reported that motorcycles represent just 3% of all registered vehicles in the United States and account for just 0.6% of all vehicle miles traveled. But by 2021, they were responsible for 14% of all traffic fatalities, 17% of all occupant fatalities, and 3% of all occupant injuries.
Deaths caused by motorcycles have increased by 19% over the past decade. In Baldwin Park, six motorcycle crash victims were either killed or injured in 2020.
It is important to remember that the number of motorcycle-related fatalities is significantly reduced when helmets are worn and other safety measures are practiced.
