[08-30-2023] 74-Year-Old Woman Injured After Head-On Collision Between Truck and SUV in Santa RosaA 74-year-old woman was injured after a head-on collision involving a truck and an SUV in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning, August 30, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occured on Calistoga Road near Alpine Road around 11:38 a.m.

In the southbound direction of Calistoga Road, a male septic truck driver failed to maintain control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn on the road. Then, it struck the Mercedes-Benz SUV head-on.

Before police arrived, the driver fled the scene, leaving the woman driving the Mercedes with major injuries. Whether she was transported to a hospital for treatment was not known.

Authorities did not disclose the identity of the victim. Additionally, no description was provided of the truck driver.

The police are still investigating this crash, and anyone with information about the crash and the suspect is encouraged to contact them.
