A rider was killed following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in Hesperia on Tuesday night, July 23, 2024.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened around 7:17 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Sycamore Street.
Authorities stated that a motorcyclist, identified as Anthony R. of Victorville, was riding a red and black 2018 Suzuki GSX-S motorcycle northbound on Maple Avenue. Meanwhile, the driver of a black GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck was making a left turn from Sycamore Street onto Maple Avenue, heading southbound. During the vehicle’s turn, the motorcycle crashed into the pickup truck.
Anthony R. sustained significant injuries and was transported to Desert Valley Hospital, where he died, while the pickup truck driver did not require medical attention at the scene. As of this writing, it is unknown if anyone else was injured.
Speeding and driving impairment were being investigated as factors in the collision. The authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
