One person was killed following a two-vehicle collision in Vallejo on Friday afternoon, July 19, 2024.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, the crash happened around 5:18 p.m. in the 1800 block of Solano Avenue.
Authorities stated that a 2015 Infiniti Q50 and a 2013 Hyundai Accent, both with one occupant, were involved in the collision. The Hyundai was traveling southbound on Shasta Street, while the Infiniti was heading westbound on Solano Avenue. When the Hyundai was about to cross Solano Avenue, approaching Mayo Avenue, the Infiniti crashed into it, killing its driver.
Police said that the Hyundai driver was transported to the hospital but later died due to his life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Infiniti remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It is unknown whether or not they were injured after the crash.
There is no word yet on the identities of the drivers. Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be the factors in the collision. The authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the cause of the accident.
