A 49-year-old man named Ervin P. was killed after a hit-and-run collision in Fresno early Saturday morning, March 30, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. between Highway 41 and Highway 180.
A driver of a Land Rover was traveling south on Hwy 41 when they failed to negotiate a turn and veered off the road before hitting an unhoused man residing in a nearby encampment.
The 49-year-old victim was declared dead at the scene, while a 27-year-old woman was arrested for DUI. However, the woman was later confirmed to be a passenger in the Land Rover.
The authorities are currently tracking the whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver. Further details have yet to be released.
