A motorcyclist died after a crash involving an SUV on Ocean Avenue near K Street in Lompoc on Monday evening, March 24, 2025.
According to the Lompoc Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. Emergency responders arrived and transported the motorcyclist to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Photos from the scene showed a heavily damaged motorcycle and an SUV with damage to its left-side passenger door stopped in the intersection.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased but indicated that speed was likely a contributing factor in the collision. No arrests have been made at this time.
Ocean Avenue between J and L Streets was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities plan to release more information as it becomes available.
