[11-05-2026] Fresno County, CA – Elderly Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash at Highway 43 and Cairo Ave.

An 80-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Fresno County on Thursday morning, November 5, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were called to Highway 43 and Cairo Avenue, near Farmers Mini Mart, around 6:45 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a northbound Kia Forte stopped at the intersection while a pickup truck was traveling southbound.

The Kia attempted a turn and was struck by the pickup, causing the car to spin onto the roadside.

The Kia’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver was uninjured.

CHP said drugs and alcohol were not suspected to have contributed to the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
