[10-22-2026] Riverside County, CA – Woman Taken To Hospital After Two-Vehicle Crash in Palm Desert

A woman was taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Palm Desert on Thursday morning, October 22, 2026.

The collision was reported shortly before 6:40 a.m. on eastbound I-10, just east of Washington Street.

According to preliminary information from authorities, a gray Honda Civic was changing lanes from the No. 3 lane into the No. 2 lane when a purple Infiniti SUV struck the back of the Honda. The impact sent the Honda out of control and into a guardrail.

The woman driving the Honda was taken to Eisenhower Health with complaints of pain. The man driving the Infiniti was not hurt.

The crash damaged the guardrail and left debris across the freeway. The eastbound No. 1 lane was closed while crews cleared the roadway, and traffic backed up about one mile past Washington Street.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
