[10-16-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Juvenile Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Long Beach

A juvenile pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Shoreline Drive in Long Beach on Friday night, October 16, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to the incident to Shoreline Drive and Beach Access Road at around 10:08 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the boy was running across traffic lanes when a 2026 Honda Accord driven by a 26-year-old Long Beach resident struck him.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police said speed, distracted driving, and impairment were not believed to have contributed to the collision.

The boy’s identity was withheld due to his age and the pending notification of his family. His exact age was not disclosed.

The circumstances remain under investigation.
