[10-08-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Rosemont

A 48-year-old Sacramento man was killed in a hit-and-run collision in the Rosemont area of Sacramento County on Thursday night, October 8, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to reports of a person in the roadway near Folsom Boulevard and La Quinta Avenue and found the man dead.

CHP identified the victim as William S. Jr. Authorities said he was in the roadway outside a marked crosswalk on Folsom Boulevard, west of Norcade Circle, when an unidentified vehicle struck him.

The driver left without assisting the victim or contacting law enforcement. Neither the driver nor the vehicle had been identified.

CHP initially reported no indications of a hit-and-run. However, authorities announced Monday afternoon that findings from the coroner’s report led them to classify the death as a fatal hit-and-run crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
