A 13-year-old girl sustained critical injuries after being struck by an SUV in Victorville on Sunday evening, October 4, 2026.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Victorville Station deputies responded to the incident shortly before 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Amethyst Road and Bear Valley Road.
A preliminary investigation found that a mother and her two children entered the roadway from the east side of Amethyst Road near a shopping center driveway.
Authorities said a southbound Kia Sorento struck the girl as the family crossed the roadway. The girl’s mother and brother crossed safely.
The girl was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she remained in critical condition.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
