A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Twentynine Palms Highway in San Bernardino County, early Tuesday morning, October 6, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 4:36 a.m. near Rice Avenue.
CHP said the pedestrian was walking in the westbound traffic lanes when he was struck by a Toyota Prius.
Officers responded and began lifesaving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota driver was not injured.
Authorities are withholding the pedestrian’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
Additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately available.
