Nine people suffered moderate to major injuries in a suspected DUI head-on collision in Napa County on Saturday evening, October 3, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers, Cal Fire personnel, and Napa County firefighters responded to the crash at around 6:10 p.m. on Highway 29 north of St. Helena.
CHP said a southbound Lucid Gravity crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The Lucid driver and two passengers, along with the Jeep driver and five passengers, were transported to local hospitals with moderate to major injuries.
Authorities said the Lucid driver was medically cleared and subsequently determined to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was booked into the Napa County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI.
CHP continues to investigate the collision.
