[10-03-2026] San Diego County, CA – Skateboarder Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle on University Ave.webpA 48-year-old man riding a skateboard suffered a serious injury after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego on Saturday evening, October 3, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred at around 7:20 p.m. in the 5300 block of University Avenue in the Colinas Del Sol community.

Police said the man was riding his skateboard northbound across University Avenue when he was struck by a westbound 2014 Honda Civic.

The skateboarder suffered an open fracture to his ankle. Additional information about his condition was not immediately available.

Authorities said alcohol was not a factor. Police continue to investigate the crash.
