According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the incident was reported shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Palm Drive and Ironwood Drive.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing Palm Drive when a vehicle struck him. He was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police said there was no indication of impairment on the part of the driver.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the incident.
