[09-30-2026] San Diego County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Blocks Several I-5 Lanes Near La Costa.webpA two-vehicle collision blocked several lanes of Interstate 5 near La Costa, San Diego County, on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 7:24 a.m. on the southbound I-5, just north of the La Costa Avenue exit.

CHP said a gray Toyota Camry and a black Toyota sedan were involved. Both vehicles were disabled in the roadway, blocking the three right lanes.

Authorities reported that an airbag had deployed in one of the vehicles, and fluid was leaking onto the interstate. A tow truck was requested to remove the vehicles.

CHP did not immediately provide information about possible injuries or the cause of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
