[09-24-2026] Ventura County, CA – Two Killed, Four Injured in Eight-Vehicle Crash in Oxnard

Two people were killed, and four others were injured in an eight-vehicle collision in Oxnard on Thursday afternoon, September 24, 2026.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, police and fire crews responded at around 3:55 p.m. to the intersection of Doris and Victoria avenues.

Police said a 2018 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Doris Avenue when its driver ran a red light and collided with a Honda Civic and a Toyota Avalon that were traveling westbound through the intersection on a green light. The impact sent the Toyota into a Southern California Edison pole on the center median.

The 31-year-old driver of the Honda and the 58-year-old driver of the Toyota, both Oxnard residents, were trapped in their vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately released.

Police identified the GMC driver as 29-year-old David M. of Santa Paula. Four other people were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. Authorities said four of the eight vehicles involved sustained major damage.

Traffic investigators believe speed and impairment by alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
