[09-22-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Teen Killed, Sister Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in South LA

A 16-year-old boy was killed, and his 14-year-old sister was critically injured in a hit-and-run collision in South Los Angeles on Tuesday night, September 22, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of 10th Avenue and involved a blue Nissan Sentra.

The 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His 14-year-old sister was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Their mother was not struck by the vehicle.

According to police, the Nissan driver did not stop after striking the teenagers. The vehicle subsequently collided with a parked vehicle and became disabled.

Police said a female driver and a male passenger exited the Nissan and fled in an unknown direction. Authorities had not released a further description of the driver.

The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the fatal hit-and-run incident.
