[09-16-2026] Monterey County, CA – After Big Rig Overturns In Crash Involving Vehicle on Highway 101

A crash involving a big rig and another vehicle was reported in South Monterey County on Wednesday morning, September 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol Monterey, the crash occurred on the northbound Highway 101 near Somavia Road.

Crews worked for several hours to clear the crash scene. CHP said both sides of Highway 101 were clear for traffic by 11:20 p.m.
