A woman was arrested after allegedly driving the wrong way and colliding head-on with another vehicle in San Benito County early Wednesday morning, September 16, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, dispatchers received a report of the incident at around 4:31 a.m. on Highway 156 near Rocks Road.
CHP said a Nissan sedan was traveling the wrong way on Highway 156 when it collided head-on with a Hyundai utility vehicle.
Investigators determined that the Nissan driver was driving under the influence, according to CHP. She was medically cleared before being arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the San Benito County Jail.
The driver of the Hyundai was not injured in the collision.
