Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 80 in Solano County on Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 12:28 p.m. on eastbound I-80 near the Highway 113 interchange.
CHP said an Infiniti SUV left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into an embankment along the right shoulder.
Emergency responders found two people inside the SUV. The driver, a 56-year-old woman from Dixon, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 65-year-old man from Vacaville suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead while being transported to a hospital.
CHP said a witness reported that the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel before the crash. Investigators have not determined whether drugs, alcohol, or a medical emergency were factors.
The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
