A 55-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Orland, Glenn County, early Friday morning, September 4, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. near County Road 20 and County Road P.
CHP said the Orland man was riding a 2025 Jiangmen QiPai KPC motorcycle westbound on County Road 20 at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a 2018 Kia Niro driven by 30-year-old Krista H. of Chico was traveling northbound on County Road P.
According to CHP, the motorcyclist failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the Kia’s side. Officials said the rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the motorcyclist’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
CHP said whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision remains under investigation.
