[09-03-2026] Lassen County, CA – One Killed, Two Injured in DUI Crash on US-395_.webpA 42-year-old Nevada man was killed, and two other people sustained injuries in a head-on crash on US-395 in Lassen County on Thursday night, September 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 8:53 p.m. on US-395 near County Road A25.

CHP said a 2012 GMC Sierra driven southbound by 39-year-old Brian B. of Herlong crossed the double yellow lines into the northbound lane. The driver of a northbound 2026 Ford Transit van attempted to steer right before the vehicles collided head-on.

The 42-year-old Ford driver, a Sparks, Nevada, resident, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts. Authorities have not yet released his identity pending notification by the coroner’s office.

Ford passenger Christopher R., 41, of Susanville, suffered major injuries and was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center. Brian was also injured and transported to the same hospital.

Following an initial investigation, CHP arrested Brian on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Susanville CHP Office continues to investigate the fatal collision.
