[09-03-2026] Kern County, CA – Man Killed, Another Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Bakersfield.webpA 68-year-old man was killed, and another driver sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Bakersfield early Thursday morning, September 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded around 4:48 a.m. on Panama Road, west of Tejon Highway.

CHP said the 68-year-old man was driving a 2001 Honda eastbound on Panama Road when he collided with a 2007 Toyota driven by a 64-year-old man traveling southbound on Tejon Highway. Officers reported that the Honda continued eastbound through the intersection before the collision occurred.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota driver was transported to Kern Medical with minor injuries.

Authorities have not released the identity of the man who died. CHP said it remains unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
