[08-31-2026] Alameda County, CA – 62-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Collision in Hayward

A 62-year-old bicyclist was killed in a collision in Hayward early Monday morning, August 31, 2026.

According to the Hayward Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of Harder and Soto roads.

Responding officers found the bicyclist with injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released his identity.

Police said the driver, a 52-year-old Hayward man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. 

Authorities said drugs and alcohol were not believed to have been factors in the collision. The circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear.
