[08-31-2026] Kern County, CA – Collision Involving Two Semi-Trucks Blocks I-5 Lanes Near Grapevine.webpAt least two semi-trucks were involved in a crash that caused traffic delays on Interstate 5 in Kern County on Monday night, August 31, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 7:08 p.m. on the northbound I-5 near Grapevine Road.

CHP reported that at least one of the semi-trucks caught fire following the collision. Produce was also spilled onto the roadway, blocking at least two lanes.

Heavy traffic was reported in the area shortly after 8:00 p.m. CHP later said the northbound lanes remained reduced because of the crash, with full reopening estimated for around 1:00 a.m.

Information regarding possible injuries was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
