A five-vehicle crash caused significant traffic delays on Highway 101 in Pismo Beach on Monday afternoon, August 31, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 3:00 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 at the Price Street on-ramp.
CHP reported that two vehicles sustained major front-end damage, while a third vehicle was also damaged. A black Toyota RAV4 was leaking an unknown fluid following the collision.
A pregnant woman in a silver Cadillac required a medical evaluation as a precaution. An ambulance was dispatched, although traffic congestion and roadway closures made it difficult to access the scene. Additional information about possible injuries was not immediately available.
Three tow trucks were requested to assist with clearing the vehicles. By approximately 4:30 p.m., southbound traffic remained backed up from Price Street to Los Osos Valley Road.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
