[08-31-2026] Ventura County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Simi Valley.webpA pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash in a Simi Valley parking lot in Ventura County on Monday afternoon, August 31, 2026.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, the incident occurred at around 4:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of Erringer Road, in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven.

Responding officers determined that a vehicle had struck an adult pedestrian before leaving the scene. The victim suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later found the vehicle involved abandoned in the area. Officers subsequently located and arrested 40-year-old Abel A. of Simi Valley in connection with the incident.

The suspect was booked into the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death.

The authorities continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash.
